About Summer Smile Dental

A family dental practice in South Gate, California, founded and led by Dr. Shaila Torbati and Dr. Dona Torbati. We care for children, adults and seniors seven days a week, in English and Spanish.

Our Story

Summer Smile Dental was built on one belief: every patient deserves to feel heard and cared for. Dr. Shaila Torbati and Dr. Dona Torbati founded the practice to build lasting relationships with families in South Gate, not to process appointments.

From your first visit we slow down, listen to your concerns and explain what we find in plain words. We will never rush you toward treatment you do not fully understand. If you have not seen a dentist in years, we start without judgment.

Today we care for patients at two offices: 8116 California Ave in South Gate and 1239 N. Avalon Blvd in Wilmington. Our South Gate office is open seven days a week, so dental care fits around work, school and family.

Dr. Shaila Torbati, DDS

Dentist, co-founder and dental implants provider

Dr. Shaila Torbati earned her dental degree, with honors, from the University of Southern California and has been licensed in California since 2012. Her focus is dental implants and cosmetic dentistry, backed by hands-on training in implant placement and bone grafting.

Dr. Dona Torbati, DDS

Dentist and co-founder

Dr. Dona Torbati co-founded Summer Smile Dental and provides general, family and cosmetic dentistry at our South Gate office, from checkups and cleanings to crowns and Invisalign. She is one of the two dentists who see our emergency patients.

We use digital X-rays, guided implant placement and same-day crown systems that can save you a second appointment. Every procedure follows strict sterilization protocols.

They took care of my emergency and Naomi walked me through everything very thoroughly. I notified the receptionist about the pain I was enduring. They saw me within 30 mins of that call and let me know what's wrong. I love that they dont try to scam you into getting random work done, and that they listen to the patient. I notified them of the experience I had previously and they were very kind and gentle. I highly recommend this dentist. They are kind, straight foward and treat the patients for what they need. Id highly suggest ignoring the bad star ones.
